New Collective Ownership
Wed 21st April 2021
5:00 pm - 6:30 pm
Home ownership exists today as the most secure, yet least accessible form of housing tenure. For some it also represents a major barrier to collective living, the benefits of which have become increasingly clear in the wake of the Covid19 pandemic.
This has led to a growing number of Londoners looking for alternative ways to live together, take control of their housing security, ensure affordability for others, and in doing so, challenge the very idea of what it means to own a home.
From new legal structures to innovative spatial and social concepts, new models of collective ownership are emerging with the aim of enabling people to come together and pool their resources to collectively own their homes.
Join us for an evening of presentations and discussion with community led housing groups who are testing these models in London today.
This event is open to anyone interested in learning and sharing ideas about collective home ownership, whether interested individuals, existing groups or housing practitioners.
