Camley Street Sustainability Zone
A community-led project to develop a mixed use scheme with affordable housing and genuine industrial space for local businesses.
Camley Street Sustainability Zone and the Camley Street Neighbourhood Forum are linked local organisations bringing together the interests of businesses on the industrial estate and those of residents on the residential estate opposite.
Following a survey of local residents in 2015, housing was viewed as the greatest priority for the area, in particular more affordable family housing.
The Cedar Way industrial estate was built in the 1980s and home to a number businesses, employing around 500 people into skilled jobs. The neighbourhood plan recognises an opportunity to intensify land uses by integrating industrial use with new residential development.
